Hello, all. Welcome to Ojibwa, Genesee County’s historical health store. We’d like to tell you a bit more about us, so here goes:
Q: Did Ojibwa really open in 1915?
A: Yes! We get this question a lot, even though we talk about it all the time. We understand it’s hard to fathom a small business like Ojibwa being around for over 110 years. In October 1915, Englishman Wilfred Shafe (whom many back them knew as “Doc”) started Ojibwa with his knowledge of Native American herbal medicines.
Q: As it stands today, what is Ojibwa’s mission?
A: Ojibwa strives to provide a diverse range of supplements and natural health products in a friendly and educational environment. We aim to be a staple in our community for holistic wellness.
Q: What types of products does Ojibwa carry?
A: A lot! Organic herbal teas. Herbal tinctures. Herbal capsules and tablets. Amla, Ashwagandha, Camu Camu, Maca, and Pomegranate are available in powder form, also. Of course, A-Z vitamins and multivitamins in various capsules, tablets, liquids, and chewables. Omega-3 and fish oil softgels and liquids. Nitric Oxide chewables, powders, and capsules. Methylene Blue, including some combined with NMN. Shilajit, amino acids, creatine, superfood blends, digestive enzymes, probiotics, glandulars, homeopathic remedies, homeopathic cell salts, and so much more. Ojibwa expanded back into pet foods, treats, and functionals, as well, over the last couple years, so we can offer support for the whole family–including our four-legged members.
Don’t see what you’re looking for? Chances are we have something comparable, or can get the product you’re looking for. Just call the store and talk to one of our team members.
Q: Does Ojibwa carry produce?
A: Not at this time. We do carry a small selection of frozen berries, frozen breads, tonic beverages, bottled hydrogen water, organic spices, alternative yogurts and cheeses, local honey, a variety of vegan and gluten-free snacks, dried fruits, nuts and seeds, trail mixes, protein bars, jerky, canned fish, coffee, jams and fruit spreads, pasta noodles and whole grains, etc.
Q: Does Ojibwa offer classes?
A: Yes. We have held Reiki certification classes and Intro to Energy Healing classes here in the past. We would love to offer even more of those same classes, as well as others in the future. Make sure you are following us on Facebook @ojibwastoremi and/or subscribed to us to make sure you can stay up-to-date.
We are so happy you are here with us!
